Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 large egg

Olive oil, for greasing

Hamburger buns, for serving

Toppings: sliced tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, or your choice of condiments

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Crack the egg into the mixture and use your hands or a spoon to thoroughly combine all ingredients until well mixed (avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender).

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side.

Carefully flip the patties and cook for another 5-6 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Optional: In the last minute of cooking, add extra white cheddar on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Remove the burgers from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

Assemble your burgers by placing the patties on toasted hamburger buns, adding your choice of toppings such as sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado.

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious cheesy spinach chicken burgers!
