Ingredients

1 (12-count) package of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup milk (whole or your choice)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup diced fresh pineapple (optional)

1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Butter or cooking spray (for greasing the baking dish)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Cube the Rolls: Cut the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls into quarters and place them evenly in the prepared baking dish. If using, sprinkle the diced pineapple and shredded coconut evenly over the rolls.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Combine: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cubed rolls, ensuring all pieces are coated. Gently press the rolls down with a spatula to soak up the mixture, ensuring none are left dry.

Let It Rest: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes to allow the rolls to soak in the egg mixture. For best results, refrigerate overnight.

Bake: After soaking, remove the cover and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup, and if desired, a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top.
