Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak

1 cup rotini pasta

1/4 cup honey

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the marinade for later. Add the flank steak to the bowl, ensuring it's well-coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours.

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Steak: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (discard used marinade) and season it lightly with salt and pepper. Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side (for medium-rare), or until desired doneness is achieved.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the reserved marinade with cornstarch, stirring until smooth. Once the steak is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. In the same skillet, add the reserved sauce mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens, about 2 minutes.

Combine the Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked rotini to the skillet with the thickened sauce and toss to coat evenly.

Serve: Slice the rested steak against the grain and place it on top of the sticky honey garlic rotini. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!
