Ingredients

1 lb (450g) breakfast sausage

8 oz (227g) cream cheese, softened

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and let it cool slightly.

Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, green onions, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended and creamy.

Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. You should have 8 triangles.

Fill the Dough: Take a tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture and place it at the wider end of each crescent triangle. Gently roll the dough up, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the pointed end. Pinch the ends to seal.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the filled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each one.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each crescent with the beaten egg to give them a nice golden color during baking. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top for added texture.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and flaky.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack.
