Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 large egg

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cucumber, grated and drained

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

Salt, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Meatball Mixture:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

      Form the Meatballs:

        - Wet your hands lightly to prevent sticking. Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1-1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

          Cook the Meatballs:

            - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C). Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

              Make the Tzatziki Sauce:

                - In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (make sure to squeeze out excess moisture), minced garlic, dill, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Stir until smooth and well mixed. Refrigerate for at least 15-20 minutes to let the flavors meld.

                  Serve:

                    - Arrange the turkey meatballs on a serving platter and serve them warm with a generous side of tzatziki sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired. These meatballs are great for a meal or as part of a mezze platter!
