Ingredients

8 oz. spaghetti or your choice of pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 ½ cups vegetable broth

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Juice of 1 lemon

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, combine the spaghetti, broccoli florets, minced garlic, red pepper flakes (if using), and vegetable broth. Ensure the pasta is submerged in the broth.

Boil & Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cover the pot. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is al dente and the broccoli is tender, and the liquid is mostly absorbed.

Add Butter & Cheese: Remove the pot from heat and add the butter, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until the butter is melted and the cheese is evenly incorporated.

Taste & Adjust: Taste the pasta and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to enhance the flavors.

Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
