Ingredients

1 lb salmon fillet, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces

¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

¼ cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (to thicken)

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon bites dry with paper towels. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.

Coat the Bites: In one bowl, mix the flour with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each salmon piece first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon bites carefully, making sure not to overcrowd the pan (you may need to do this in batches).

Cook the Salmon: Fry the salmon bites for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Heat over medium-low, stirring occasionally. Once it starts to simmer, add the cornstarch mixture. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.

Combine and Serve: Once the salmon bites are ready, return them to the skillet and drizzle the thickened honey garlic sauce over them, tossing gently to coat.

Plate and Garnish: Serve the crispy honey garlic salmon bites warm, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
