Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the creamy sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and let it reduce by half, stirring occasionally for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

Combine everything: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Add the drained pasta, mixing well. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired. Enjoy your delightful creamy garlic shrimp pasta!
