Creamed Potatoes and Peas

2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed

1 cup frozen peas

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup whole milk

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup finely chopped chives

Salt and pepper to taste

A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Cook the Potatoes: Place the cubed Yukon Gold potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

    Prepare the Peas: While the potatoes are cooking, heat a small pot of water to a simmer. Add the frozen peas and cook for about 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain and set aside.

      Make the Cream Mixture: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring until combined. Bring to a gentle simmer.
