Ingredients

1 cup cottage cheese

1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Salt to taste

½ avocado, diced

1 medium tomato, diced

Fresh arugula or mixed greens for serving

Optional: crusty bread for serving

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, chives, Old Bay seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Gently fold the ingredients together until well incorporated, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or Old Bay as desired.

In a separate bowl, mix the diced avocado and tomato together with a pinch of salt, allowing their natural flavors to meld.

To serve, place a generous handful of arugula or mixed greens in a bowl. Top with a scoop of the cottage cheese crab mixture.

Add a portion of the avocado and tomato mixture on top of the crab blend.

For an extra crunch, serve with slices of crusty bread on the side for dipping or toasting.
