1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage or pepperoni slices (optional for non-vegetarian)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Olive oil for drizzling

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.

In a baking dish, spread the marinara sauce evenly across the bottom.

Add the cottage cheese mixture on top of the marinara sauce, spreading it evenly.

Layer the diced bell peppers, red onion, and cooked sausage or pepperoni over the cottage cheese.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.

If using, add sliced black olives on top of the mozzarella.

Drizzle a little olive oil across the top for added flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
