Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned, drained)

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Cooking spray or olive oil

Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, guacamole

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning to the beef along with 2/3 cup water. Stir and let simmer for about 5 minutes or until thickened.

Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into four rectangles by pinching the seams together from the triangles.

Assemble the Taco Sticks: Spread a layer of the seasoned beef mixture onto each rectangle of dough. Top with diced tomatoes, olives (if using), and a generous sprinkle of both cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.

Create the Sticks: Roll each rectangle tightly from one end to the other, like a cinnamon roll. Pinch the edges to seal them then gently stretch and twist each roll into a stick shape.

Bake: Place the taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Optionally, brush the tops with a little olive oil for a golden color. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Garnish: Once the taco sticks are done, remove from the oven, and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.

Serve: Let the sticks cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for dipping.
