Ingredients

1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece of ginger, minced

1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or green)

1 cup broccoli florets

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a small bowl, combine the sliced beef with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Allow to marinate for about 15-30 minutes to enhance flavor.

Prepare the Wok: Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and let it get hot.

Stir-fry the Aromatics: Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to high and add the marinated beef to the wok. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the beef starts to brown and is cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Stir-fry the Vegetables: In the same wok, add the sliced bell pepper and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine and Thicken: Return the cooked beef to the wok. Add the cornstarch mix, sesame oil, and sugar. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Plate the beef stir-fry over cooked jasmine rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
