Ingredients

8 slices of thick bread (e.g., challah or brioche)

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, whipped cream

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Cut each slice of bread into three rectangular sticks. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for just a few seconds on each side. Ensure it's coated but not soggy.

Place the soaked bread sticks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the sticks.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, flipping the sticks halfway through, until they are golden brown and slightly crisp.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve warm with optional toppings such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, or whipped cream.
