Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons sea salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Cornmeal (for dusting)

Instructions

In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sea salt. Mix well to ensure the salt is evenly distributed.

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with the olive oil.

Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air. Divide it into 2-4 equal portions, depending on the desired pizza size.

Shape each portion into a ball and let it rest for another 20-30 minutes, covered with the cloth.

Preheat your oven to its highest setting (usually 475-500°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

Take one dough ball and stretch it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Add cornmeal to your pizza paddle or baking sheet before placing the dough to prevent sticking.

Top with your favorite sauces and toppings, then carefully transfer the pizza to the hot stone or sheet.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy!
