Ingredients

1 ½ lbs ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups beef broth

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared or store-bought)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the beef mixture into 4-6 equal-sized patties.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the patties on each side for about 3-4 minutes until they have a nice sear. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup, stirring to combine and bring to a simmer.

Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir, allowing them to cook for about 5 minutes.

In a baking dish, place the browned hamburger patties in a single layer. Pour the vegetable and broth mixture over the patties, ensuring they are well coated.

Dollop the mashed potatoes on top of the beef and vegetable mixture, spreading them evenly. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes for extra flavor.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, allowing the top to brown slightly.

Remove from oven, let rest for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
